Meg nasceu na Pensilvânia em 10 de Maio de 1948, mede 1.69m. No msm ano em que se casou se divorciou de Stephen McHattie . Sua marca regisytrada são seus olhos azuis. Em 1982 ganhou oscar de melhor atriz por seu papel em "Ticket to Heaven" no ano anterior.
